Jake Polancich is the director of bands and music department coordinator at Arrowhead High School where he conducts the Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, North Jazz Ensemble, Marching Band and teaches Music Theory. He holds a Master of Music (M.M.) degree in wind conducting from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Music Education from Augustana College (Rock Island, IL). He is an accomplished bassoonist and percussionist, having performed in a variety of settings throughout the United States, England, and the Republic of China.
As a drummer and percussionist, his most recent projects include performance/recording dates with the Meisel Music Collective (jazz quintet) and the Montauk Project (improvised drums/saxophone duo). He has performed and recorded with numerous bands and ensembles.
Jake holds active membership in the National Association for Music Education, National Band Association, Wisconsin Music Educators Association, International Association for Jazz, the UW-Milwaukee Youth Wind Ensemble Board of Directors, Percussive Arts Society, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia men's music fraternity. He continues to serve as a performer, conductor, presenter and adjudicator for various festivals and concerts.
