Adam Downey

Adam Downey is a drummer from the West Of Ireland. He began playing drums at the age of 15. Influenced by bands such as Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin Adam began to gig and record at a young age. Adam's professional career began in 2010 when he joined blues rock band Sons Of Gingerbread.

Since then he has toured extensively worldwide and recorded with many different artists. Adam regularly performs with Jamie Harrison, Nicholas Timothy, Benjamin Turner, Tracy Bruen, Fia Rua, Harry Bird and the Rubber Wellies
2018 saw a busy year for Adam which included 2 sell out shows with Jamie Harrison, many European tours including Germany, Ireland, Northern Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, Switzerland, Spain and Holland, slots at all major Irish music festivals including Body and Soul, Electric Picnic and Knockanstockan, a headline gig at Galway International Arts Festival and a headlining Folk Festival tour of Germany.

2019 welcomes more European Tours for Adam coupled with many major festival performances in Ireland and Europe. Recently Adam Performed at The Galway Drum Show which also featured performances from Chad Wackerman, Richard Spaven, Adam Marcello, Darren Beckett and Dan Western.

Adam cites Richard Spaven, Nate Smith, Stanton Moore, John Bonham and Brian Blade as his biggest influences.
