With 20 years experience behind the kit and more than 15 performing in the extreme metal scene, Laike is both a masterful performer and a deeply knowledgeable musician.
The sound Laike has crafted is powerful and emotive, influenced by time spent studying under renowned drummers Navene Koperweis (Animals As Leaders, Animosity, Entheos) and Ash Pearson (Revocation, 3 Inches Of Blood). Laike's rigorous dedication to technical precision allows them to push the boundaries of extreme music. Their ability to invent and execute unorthodox ideas has earned them a strong reputation in hardcore and metal scenes.
The success Laike has seen as a touring musician and online are a result of years of wholehearted dedication. They believe strongly in the power of shared knowledge, mutual support between musicians, and open collaboration to push the limits of drumming as it is understood today. Laike is always challenging the constraints of their instrument and learning how to work with, against, or even beyond them.
Challenging limits is also a personal endeavor for Laike: they want their identity as an openly trans musician to inspire others who may be struggling to find their place in the world. Laike stands as proof to young queer musicians that it is possible to succeed and thrive no matter what may stand in the way.
