Andy Edwards came to prominence playing with Robert Plant and went on to record and perform with Frost and IQ. He is now a music YouTuber and was recently featured on Rick Beato.

Andy's Career

Andy Edwards is a British drummer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and music critic, best known for his work with progressive rock bands Frost* and IQ. He first came to prominence as the drummer for Robert Plant's Priory of Brion, touring extensively across Europe before becoming a Tama Drums clinician and contributing to publications including Rhythm Magazine and Modern Drummer.

In 2002, Edwards joined The Ian Parker Band, touring Europe and recording two albums before joining IQ in 2005. He toured Europe, the US, and Canada with IQ and appeared on the DVD Stage and album Frequency. In 2006, he joined Frost*, recording their acclaimed debut Milliontown and later Experiments in Mass Appeal.

After leaving IQ and Frost* in 2009, Edwards moved into music education, session work, production, and experimental projects. He has since worked with artists including Clive Nolan, Martin Orford, Magenta, Tim Bowness, Steve Lawson, Phi Yaan-Zek, and Bev Bevan, and has performed at festivals including Cropredy and Winters End.

Edwards is also active as a producer and multi-instrumentalist, working across prog, jazz, funk, electronica, and experimental music. Since 2021, he has run a YouTube channel exploring rock, prog, jazz, and aesthetic philosophy, featuring guests including Simon Phillips, Billy Cobham, Narada Michael Walden, and Matthew Tavares.
