Blakes's Career

Blake Gamel is a multi-faceted rock drummer and songwriter based in Atlanta, Georgia, known for his dynamic style and wide-ranging musical versatility. His journey into drumming began unexpectedly at age 12, when he discovered his older brother’s abandoned drum kit in the attic. After setting it up and tapping around, he was instantly hooked. Daily practice quickly turned into an obsession with music and rhythm, leading him to explore a broad spectrum of genres and develop a unique musical language.

By the age of 14, Blake was performing live, and just a few years later, he was touring the U.S. in punk and hardcore circuits through DIY venues. In 2016, his career took a major leap forward when he joined his first signed project, Big Jesus, which introduced him to professional touring and larger audiences. Since then, Blake has built a thriving career as both a touring and recording drummer, with over 100 credits to his name and a typical calendar of 80 to 100 shows per year.

Blake has performed and recorded with a diverse list of artists including Slow Joy, Dinosaur Pile-Up, Can’t Swim, Big Jesus, and Ricochet Star, among others. Whether on the road or in the studio, he brings creative energy, technical precision, and a deep love for the craft of drumming.
