About Caleb Herron

Caleb Herron is a percussionist and educator in the Metro-Atlanta area. He is an adjunct professor of percussion and music at Georgia State University, Perimeter College (Clarkston) as well as Morehouse College. He provides sectional coaching to several Atlanta-area Middle and High schools. He also teaches private percussion and drum set lessons at his home studio in Norcross.

Caleb's Career

Caleb Herron was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga. He performed in Band throughout middle and high school and eventually went to Georgia State University where he studied with Dr. Stuart Gerber and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Percussion Performance. He then went to Fairbanks, Alaska to study with Dr. Morris Palter and received his Master of Arts degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. After moving back to Atlanta, Caleb founded Chamber Cartel in 2012, a contemporary chamber music ensemble that brings amazing New Music to Atlanta audiences' ears. In 2026, Chamber Cartel will celebrate their 15th season presented by the Goat Farm Arts Center. Caleb is also a co-founder of the SoundNOW festival, an annual celebration of contemporary music in Atlanta by Atlanta-area musicians and ensembles. When Caleb is not performing New Music with Chamber Cartel you can find him in several orchestras in Georgia and around Atlanta, such as the Johns Creek Symphony, Dekalb Symphony, LaGrange Symphony, Columbus Symphony, and others!
