About Christian Hirth

Christian Hirth is a prominent Chilean drummer, composer, and educator who has worked on various musical projects focused on jazz, experimental music, fusion, Avant Garde, and percussion music. Among his most notable projects are the groups Mediabanda and Zet. He is also the owner of CHT Studios, one of the most important recording studios in Chile, and he founded his own drum academy under the name Hirth Drum Academy, through which he has published several drum and rhythm method books.

In 2012, Hirth founded CHT Studios (www.chtestudios.com) and CHT Lab, a Creative Music and Sound Center in Santiago, Chile (www.chtlab.com).

He has performed with renowned artists including Bernhard Wulff, Mark Ford, and John Wooton, and has published five books on drumming and rhythmics that are part of various educational programs. Hirth has also given workshops across Latin America alongside drummers such as Robbie Ameen, Marco Minnemann, and Gustavo Meli.

As a composer, his works for percussion ensemble have been premiered in Chile, Germany, Mexico, and Argentina. He has also written music for documentaries and cultural series including Despierta, Emily, and Ojo en Tinta.
