About Damien Moffitt

Damien Moffitt is a Brooklyn-based drummer and co-founder of Trip Villain, a power duo fusing synth-driven psychedelia with the weight of doom metal. A Dream Cymbals artist, he has performed at venues including Irving Plaza, Elsewhere, Saint Vitus, and the 9:30 Club. Damien cut his teeth in bands such as ShitKill, Show Me the Body, and Netherlands, and continues to push heavy music forward through performance, collaboration, and education.

Damien's Career

Damien Moffitt has been behind the drum kit for as long as he can remember—rumor has it his first metal show was in the womb.

He co-founded Trip Villain with longtime collaborator Josh Musto, a Brooklyn-based band that blends synth-soaked psychedelia with the primal stomp of doom metal.

Damien cut his teeth early, forming his first band, ShitKill, at the age of thirteen and sharing the stage with acts like EYEHATEGOD, Cro-Mags, and Twelve Foot Ninja. He later became the original drummer for hardcore punk mainstays Show Me the Body, and went on to join the “future-sludge” powerhouse Netherlands. Throughout his career, his passion for writing and performing has remained constant.

In addition to performing, Damien has studied with renowned drummers Peter O’Brien, Thurman Barker, and Vin Scialla, and has shared his craft through teaching workshops at schools and music programs across the region.

"Dream Cymbals bring out exactly what I need in my playing—the warmth and depth that make every groove feel alive, and the darker, more sinister overtones that push the intensity of my music forward. They don’t just cut through; they shape the atmosphere. I’m proud to represent a company that makes instruments as inspiring as the music I strive to create."
