About Håkon Stene

Håkon Stene is a solo percussionist and performer with Pantha du Prince, Nils Økland Band, Oslo Sinfonietta, asamisimasa, Benedicte Maurseth, among others. He is Professor of Percussion at the University of Music Freiburg and the Norwegian Academy of Music.


Håkon's Career

Håkon Stene is an award-winning classical percussionist who is active internationally as a soloist and chamber musician across multiple genres. He is known as an initiator and commissioner of new works, as well as a recording artist, producer, educator, and researcher.

Stene performs regularly with Pantha du Prince, Nils Økland Band, Oslo Sinfonietta, asamisimasa, and Benedicte Maurseth, among others. His work bridges the worlds of contemporary classical music, experimental sound art, and innovative cross-genre collaborations.

He currently serves as Professor of Percussion at the University of Music Freiburg and at the Norwegian Academy of Music.
