Jeff's Career

Jeff Howe was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, giving his drumming that distinctive southern style that only growing up in multi-cultural Texas can do. His energetic drumming style draws from all of his influences including Rock, Swingin' Jump Blues, Jazz, Country, Lounge and a bit of south of the border flavor mixed in for good measure.

This versatility makes him a songwriter's dream both live and in the studio. Jeff feels that the lyrics and story are the most important aspect when working with a songwriter and this sensitivity keeps him in demand with a wide range of artists such as Johnny Reno (Swing, Soundtracks), Max Stalling (Country), Austin Allsup (Alt. Country) John Ivins (Contemporary Christian), Brad Thompson (Alternative Rock), Tim Miller (Rock) Phil Pritchett (Rock) JackoPierce (Rock/Pop).

Whatever the genre, Jeff Knows the song comes first and that means laying down a good, fat groove and playing what is appropriate for any given style. Most of the time this means a full drum kit. Other times it might mean a snare with brushes or a conga and shaker. Jeff's motto is; whatever it takes to make the song!

"I love the fact that Dream cymbals all sound different. Dream cymbals are not "cookie-cutter" cymbals. Each cymbal has its own character, pitch, response and tone. This ensures that my set of cymbals, sounds like no other, allowing me to really express myself musically!"
