About Jimmy Taylor

Jimmy is a drummer from Wolverhampton, UK who plays in Scottish rock band Cold Years. He has toured extensively across UK and Europe and made records in the UK and America.

Jimmy's Career

Jimmy started playing drums in 1999. After a year of lessons with a local teacher, he spent the 2000s and 2010s playing in multiple bands, earning a reputation for his hard-hitting, creative drumming across an array of rock subgenres.

In 2021, Jimmy received a call from Scottish rockers Cold Years, inviting him to join them for their upcoming album touring cycle. He officially joined the band later that year. Since then, Jimmy and Cold Years have toured extensively across the UK and Europe, selling out headline shows and supporting the likes of Billy Talent, Bayside, I Am The Avalanche, Laura Jane Grace, and more. The band has built a loyal fanbase and cemented its place on the European touring circuit. Appearances at Slam Dunk, 2000 Trees, Rock for People, and Deichbrand have further established Cold Years as a fixture on major international festival lineups.

In 2023, Cold Years recorded their third album, A Different Life (MNRK UK), at The Barbershop Studios in New Jersey, USA, with producer Brett Romnes. Released in April 2024, the album's singles received global radio attention and earned the band Top 10 positions in the German Rock Charts, where they remained for the rest of the year. The band embarked on its most successful headline tour to date in 2024, closing out the album cycle in February 2025.

In 2026, Cold Years released two new singles to widespread critical acclaim and returned to touring. The band is also booked for multiple international festivals and tours in 2027.

"I've been playing Dream cymbals for over 10 years. They are the most musical cymbals and sit perfectly into the music I play."
