About Steph Duchesne

Steph Duchesne is a classically trained percussionist based in Toronto, Ontario. Hailing from Northern Ontario, Steph studied at Cambrian College under Ian Gibson. Through his over 15 years of professional playing, he has performed in nearly every capacity from The Sudbury Symphony Orchestra to legendary Franco-Ontarian artists.

Steph's Career

Originally from Montreal, Quebec, Steph began playing drums at the age of 14. Now with a career spanning over 15 years, he has been prolific with session work as well as a diverse range of gigs and performances.

Founder and member of such groups as Murder Murder and Pistol George Warren, Steph has toured extensively throughout Canada and Europe.

Being a classically trained percussionist, Steph has a career spanning from playing with The Sudbury Symphony Orchestra to up and coming artists as well as legendary Franco-Ontarian musicians.

He has also worked with acclaimed producers and recording engineers such as Brian Moncarz (Moneen), Andy Magoffin (Great Lakes Swimmers, The Constantines) and Dave MacKinnon (FemBots, Weakerthans), while recording at the legendary Revolution Studios and The House of Miracles amongst others. Most recently, he has been the resident drummer for Deadpan Studios in Sudbury, Ontario.

Now located in Toronto, Ontario, Steph is continuing his journey of collaborating and performing with countless artists and exciting Canadian projects.
