About Tom Larson

Originally from Colorado, Tom Larson studied classical percussion at Fort Lewis College and played in the San Juan Symphony. He transferred to the University of New Orleans and graduated with a degree in Jazz Studies under the guidance of Ellis Marsalis. After living and playing in New Orleans for nearly a decade, Tom moved to Nashville, Tennessee. Since living in Nashville, Tom has toured in Korea with The Norris Twins on an MWR tour, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey and Italy with Homeade Water on a USO tour, 14 years with blues guitarist, Scott Holt, Seals and Seals, which was brothers, Jimmy and Dan Seals, and countless other Jazz, Blues, rock, and country acts. Tom was the musical director for the I Know music festival in Uganda for HIV awareness for 4 years, bringing HIV testing and treatment through musical concerts, and the first free music festivals in Uganda at the time.
Tom has produced 2 solo projects and worked with theater and film production on their soundtracks. He has toured all over the United States and even to Prague, Czechoslovakia, working with Ballroom Dance Competitions, adding live percussion with a DJ. Tom teaches with the Otis Redding Foundation in Macon, Georgia, helping young musicians and songwriters find their footing in today's music world. Tom is still incredibly active in the performing, recording, and teaching of drums and percussion.
