Alain's Career

Alain Bergé is an accomplished drummer, producer, and composer whose career has spanned continents and genres. After performing with local bands early in his career, he moved to Los Angeles to attend UCLA, where he began performing with Cirque du Soleil. He spent four years touring North America with the company, honing his craft on some of the world’s biggest stages.

Since settling in Montréal, Alain has become one of Quebec’s most respected and sought-after drummers. He has recorded and toured with many of the province’s most celebrated artists, including Jean Leloup, Daniel Bélanger, Ariane Moffatt, Kevin Parent, Richard Séguin, Fred Fortin, Galaxie, Elage Diouf, and Jordan Officer — all Juno or Félix Award winners. To date, his drumming can be heard on more than 150 albums.

In 2000, Alain began a long-standing collaboration with international superstar Youssou N’Dour, recording on seven of his albums and touring extensively across North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. This partnership led to unforgettable performances alongside Peter Gabriel, Stevie Wonder, and Carlos Santana, as well as appearances on iconic stages including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, London’s Royal Albert Hall with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Hollywood Bowl. He has also appeared on major television broadcasts such as The Late Show with David Letterman and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Beyond performance, Alain co-creates with the duo Jubanz, composing and recording music for television, most recently for the hit TVA series Indéfendable. As a producer, he has worked with artists including Youssou N’Dour, Elage Diouf, Jordan Officer, and the late Eve Cournoyer, always focused on supporting each artist’s unique vision.

Alain is currently performing with Grammy Award-winning artist Alex Cuba, guitar virtuoso Jordan Officer, and alt-rock singer-songwriter Fred Fortin, continuing to bring his signature creativity, musicality, and passion to every stage and studio he enters.

"Dream Cymbals give me the perfect balance of tone, warmth, and character.
Whether in the studio or live, they respond to every dynamic and inspire me to play my best.
I love the Dark Matter series!"
